Team Besecker is committed to preserving the tradition and history associated with
Open Wheel racing.  We believe that progress in this sport will be achieved by not only
moving forward, but also by remembering, respecting and honoring the efforts of those
who walked these footsteps before us.   We dedicated our family's 50th year in racing to
honoring those heroes from yesteryear, whose fierce competition coupled with
sportsmanship, paved the way for Open Wheel racing today.

Ironically, Team Besecker lost "Grandpa" Gene Besecker, in 2005, 50 years after he
started it all. RIP Grandpa.

TEAM BESECKER THANKS YOU FOR BEING

SO NOW WHAT?
Since hanging up the helmet, Kevin has picked up the wrench and has been working as Crew Chief for C&A Motorsports.  Kevin
maintains and turns wrenches for 15 year old Dakoda Armstrong, who dabbles in nearly all forms of Open Wheel racing. He also
helps, Dakoda's cousin, Caleb, in his Kenyon Car campaign as well as an occasional Micro Sprint race when the schedule allows.
2007 will also see the debut of  Dalton Armstrong (Dakoda's younger brother) in the Kenyon Car circuit.  C&A Motorsports
operates out of New Castle, Indiana, and are best known for fielding cars and sponsoring Chip Ganassi driver, Bryan Clauson.

NEWS FROM TEAM BESECKER:
Whoa...long time no update, eh?  Obviously, we've been rather busy. The biggest news is the addition of our latest member of
Team Besecker, Drake Parker Besecker!  He was born January 27th (that makes TWO January Besecker boys for those
counting!) and has been a GREAT baby.  He's so much easier than Nicholas ever was..that is for sure!

The first question we are always asked is if Drake was named after Open Wheel racer, Jay Drake.  Well, no.  We are quite the
fans of Jay, but we aren't so obsessed that we would name our son after him!  Actually, Drake was not named until late in the day
after he was born.  We couldn't make up our mind, so since Drake was on the short list of names we agreed on....we just went for
it.  As it turned out, we are very glad we did!  Drake's middle name, Parker, is named after Lauren's Great Grandfather, whose
middle name was also Parker. So, Nicholas has his Great Grandmother's maiden name (Crawford) for a middle name and Drake
has his Great Grandfather's middle name....guess the family's will have to claim them both!

Though Drake has been an easy easy easy and delightful baby, it was a long winter.  Nicholas had to spend some time in
Children's Hospital, chasing the cause of reoccuring fevers.  Thank Goodness, we have been without a bout of fevers for several
months now!  We also had some other sick and injured family members, a furnace that went out 3x (including when Drake was
less than a week old and it was -27 wind chill and Kevin was in Florida!) several bouts of illnesses for each of us AND of course,
the usual chaos of racing season.

Kevin continues to crew chief for Armstrong Racing/C&A Motorsports.  Dakoda, soon to be 16, has now raced all of the cars in the
stable...both pavement Midgets and Sprints and dirt Midgets and Sprints.  Caleb debuted in the Kenyon car last year and continues
to improve in that while also tackling the Micro Sprint scene.  Dalton, the youngest of the Armstrong boys, will make his Kenyon
Car debut in the next few weeks, after his 13th birthday.  So, needless to say, chasing those 3 boys around their multiple race
tracks with their multiple kinds of cars and chasing the 2 boys that live under his roof has Kevin busier than ever.

Nicholas completed pre-school and looks forward to Kindergarten.  He had a good year in pre-school and was quite the apple of
his teacher's eyes.  This summer he has spent a great deal of time at the races with Dad and even goes to work with him during
the week at times.  He's still the self proclaimed driving coach of anyone who will listen and he continues to have more fans and
friends in the state of Indiana than his father does.

Drake is busy being a baby....eating, sleeping, pooping, spitting and crying.  Actually, he rarely cries.  He's got the best disposition
of all of us....we can't figure out how it is he is so even tempered and nice.  He's absolutely smitten with his brother...he truly lights
up when Nicholas enters the room.  He's starting to get a little easier on the eyes, too.  Poor thing...he was not blessed with the
good looks his brother had when he was born!  We feel confident that he'll come around, after all, he comes from good stock. LoL

Lauren is back in slow mode...a far cry different than the past few years.  Most days are spent chasing kids and changing diapers
and racing and all things race related are on the back burner.  She has made it to a few races this season, but mostly, she's just
trying to keep all of "the boys" (including Kevin) taken care of.  Usually weekend nights after Drake goes to sleep are spent
listening to the World Of Outlaws on www.dirtvision.com and fielding phone calls from Kevin at whatever race track they are
racing.  So...she still gets her fix of racing...let's face it, she can't just "give it up"!!!

That's all of the news from us for now.  Keep dropping by, and we'll keep posting.  So many people have asked that Kev keeps this
site going as they have come to enjoy it, so that's what we'll do....even if it is a little silly that "a mechanic" has a website!

SEE YA AT THE RACES!
KEVIN FEATURED IN

Kevin was featured in the April edition of "The

Kevin was deeply honored and SHOCKED to have been
included in this publication.  Kevin said,
"It's not every day that a guy like me gets included in
something like this.  Usually, this magazine features the
'who's who' of racing.  Just to be mentioned in there would
have been an honor, but to be FEATURED in the
magazine...WOW.  I just can't believe that Pat Sullivan and
editor, Doug Auld, found me, the poor kid from Greenville,
Ohio worthy.  I really don't think I could get any luckier at
this point."

WELCOME TO THE TEAM!
