We are proud to announce that for the 2005 season,
Team Besecker will launch a fund raising program
benefiting the National Sprint Car Hall Of Fame And
Museum.  We have titled this project "A Summer To
Remember", as in 2005 we will remember and honor
those racers who have made these laps before us by
supporting The National Sprint Car Hall Of Fame and
Museum.

How Does The Fund Raiser Work?

Every night that Kevin races, he will personally donate a
portion of each of his night's earnings to The Hall Of
Fame.  Every night, good or bad, Kevin will make a
personal donation to the cause, with NO exceptions.

Additionally, each month Kevin will race "in the name
of" a Hall Of Famer  who has left a special impact on
Kevin's life in one way or another.   All donations to The
Hall Of Fame And Museum will be made in those driver's
names. Team Besecker's  ultimate goal is  to generate
enough funds that the storage units can be purchased
in a addition to a brick in each of the driver's memories
being placed in the museum.  We know that with your
help, we can make this happen.

HONORED DRIVERS:
September & October:
INDIANA RACE FANS
This month, Kevin has chosen to honor YOU, the race
fans.  In honor of the fans, both past and present, Kevin
will conclude his efforts to raise money for and
awareness of ,The Nationals Sprint Car Hall Of Fame.
Kevin feels that without the fans of the past, we would
not have the sport that we all love today.  He also
knows that without the fans in the stands today, this
sport would not have a secure future.  This month,
Kevin salutes YOU the fans for YOUR hard work, YOUR
efforts and YOUR contributions to his craft.    Many
people believe that it is the racers and teams that bring
us this great sport, but not Kevin.  Kevin believes it is
THE FANS who allow those racers and their teams to
do what they love.  For that he thanks YOU for allowing
him to pursue his dreams!
August:
DICK GAINES
Dick Gaines is one of Indiana's most decorated drivers.
Known by many as a "purse snatcher", Dick, who
prospered  on the local scene, would show up for the
"Big Money Shows" and would often leave with the
prize. He is the only driver in history to win both the
Knoxville Nationals and The Little 500.

Dick Gaines was a true underdog of sorts,  often
surviving on a racing budget far smaller than his
competitors.  He raced for some legendary car owners
such as Dizz Wilson & Karl Kinser.  His son, Dickie, has
followed in his footsteps, and for Kevin, it is truly an
honor to race with a competitor bearing the same name
as one of the sports all time greatest.
Please check out Bob Royer's fantastic tribute to Dick,
by following
THIS LINK.

Also, please join Team Besecker and some of the best
and brightest in the sport for the Dick Gaines Memorial
Race to be held at
Lawrenceburg Speedway, one of
Dick's former battle grounds on August 27th.

July:
ROBBIE STANLEY
Robbie, above all, was truly one of Kevin's most
beloved childhood heroes.  Robbie was the kind of
racer who could awe you in the stands with his
incredible talent and unforgettable driving prowess, but
also, the kind of driver who would warm your heart by
taking time out for the fans in the pits.   Kevin
remembers being a "young annoying kid" who would
bug Robbie in the pits for autographs or just some
"chat" , and Robbie always acted as if he had all of the
time in the world for him.  In fact, Robbie's personal
demeanor has served as a model by which Kevin has
molded his own.  Robbie was a true gentleman both on
and off of the track.  Learn more about Robbie

June:
SHELDON KINSER
Sheldon Kinser is legendary in Indiana, having been
one of the best to ever compete at both the local tracks
and the National level.  Sheldon owns a whopping 37
USAC Sprint Car Victories, placing him 6th on the all
time win list.  Kinser is also known for his prowess in
Cart and The IRL, having made 6 Indy 500 starts. The
month of June was chosen to honor Sheldon due to the
Sheldon Kinser Memorial race at Bloomington
Speedway being held this month.  This race has proven
to produces some of the highest car counts and most
impressive competition in Indiana each year.  This
year's Sheldon Kinser Memorial race at The
Bloomington Speedway will be held on Friday, June
10th, paying $3000 to win.  Please log on to

MAY:
RICH VOGLER
Rich was chosen as Kevin's honored driver for this
month as he is one of Kevin's most remembered racers.
Living only a short  drive from Eldora and Winchester,
Kevin grew up hanging on the fences at those famed
tracks, watching Rich work his magic. No one has ever
quite thrilled Kevin the way Rich did and his legacy has
lived on in the hearts of fans like Kevin everywhere.   He
was a true hero who has never been forgotten by
anyone who ever got to see him race.  As a 5 time Indy
500 starter, Team Besecker thought May to be the
appropriate month to honor the man who lived his
dream and served as the inspiration for  so many
others, like Kevin, to live theirs.

YOUR NAME HERE!

March & April:
These two months have been grouped together do to
the limited racing available.

JAY WOODSIDE
Jay was chosen as the first driver to launch our fund
raising effort.  Jay drove for Kevin's grandfather, Gene
Besecker, in the late 1960's  in USAC competition.  Jay
was a legendary racer whose career spanned many
decades and many states.  A great story written about
Jay can be found by clicking the link below:

Jay Woodside By Rich Boteler

Unfortunatley, there was not "racing to be had" in the
month of March.  April saw almost half of the schedule
get rained out, but thanks to the help of supporters of
Team Besecker's efforts and Kevin's personal
donations, a brick will be placed in the National Sprint
Car Hall Of Fame in Jay's memory, in addition to a
donation to be given to Pat Woodside, Jay's widow.
Special thanks to
Bryan Clauson Motorpsorts for their
brick donation and to
Dave Wilson and Dwight Shelton
for their personal contributions.

Check back often, as we will list the names of those
people or businesses supporting our fund raising
efforts in addition to posting each month's driver
HERE!

correctly.  Additionally, those who are donating in the
name of the driver that Kevin is honoring, need to
include that driver's name with your donation.
Remember, it is our goal to not only provide the funding
for the media storage, but also generate enough that
each of the drivers that we honor can have  brick in The
Hall Of Fame in their memory.*****

program of your own, please email us at:

How Else Can You Donate?

Team Besecker will take pledges from individuals or
businesses.  These can be donations promised based
on things like A Features Raced, Laps, Laps Lead, Top
10's, Top 5's and Wins, to name a few. This can be for a
season, a month or any number of races that you
choose. You can email your pledge to
teambesecker@yahoo.com .  Your pledge is your
promise that you will donate an amount of your
choosing based on the criteria you have outlined.  For
examaple, if you want to donate $10 for every lap Kevin
leads in a feature for the month of June, at the end of
June,  a tally will be taken of the laps he lead and you
will be asked to fulfill your pledge.  This is a fun and
interactive way of getting involved in a wonderful
cause. It also will encourage Kevin to do his best to
make sure that your pledge becomes a reality.
